About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and strategic Artistic Creative Manager to lead our creative output and drive our mission of connecting arts, culture, and commerce between the UK and China.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative brand strategies and design concepts, while integrating market analysis and strategic consultancy to guide artist programmes, brand campaigns, and cultural initiatives.
- Plan, organise, direct, and coordinate projects and resources across artistic collaborations, brand partnerships, and cultural exchanges, ensuring alignment with the agency’s cross-border and interdisciplinary focus.
- Manage client relationships from end to end—conducting market and audience analysis, defining creative and commercial objectives, and overseeing project conception through delivery—including artist-led collaborations, brand identity systems, and cultural activations.
- Generate new business by identifying partnership opportunities with artists, cultural venues, and media partners, while negotiating agreements related to artwork licensing, copyright, and co-creation.
- Promote the agency through curated events, exhibitions, and conferences in the UK and China, establishing the agency as a key connector between arts and commerce.
- Scout and recruit artistic talent—including visual artists, writers, digital creators, and performers—and source original artworks and creative content for UK-China collaborative projects.
- Review and refine creative outputs across concurrent projects to ensure aesthetic quality, strategic coherence, and cultural relevance.
- Assess and plan staffing, budgetary, and operational requirements for both immediate projects and long-term agency development.
- Continuously monitor trends and developments across visual, performance, and digital arts, as well as evolving cultural and media landscapes in the UK and China.

Annual salary: £40,000--£55,000 (depending on experience)

Requirements

  • Proven experience in senior creative leadership within the arts, creative industries, or cultural sector.

  • Background in management consultancy, strategic business analysis, or client-facing strategy roles is preferred.

  • A strong academic or professional background in arts or creative industry; able to develop and deliver cross-cultural or international creative projects.

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage end-to-end project cycles.

  • Knowledge of UK and Chinese cultural markets, media landscapes, and creative networks, or other cross-culture background is highly desirable.

  • Strategic thinker with strong organisational and resource-planning abilities.

  • Be able to communicate in Chinese is a must and speaks in other languages would be a plus.
